Home again at last! After many years, the Orchestra in the Stairwell returns regularly to its legendary founding venue with ROOTS. This time we will be playing Tchaikovsky's string sextet "Souvenir de Florence" in two concerts on Sunday evening. In this masterpiece, the composer combines Russian passion with Italian charm and creates a sound full of emotion, elegance and temperament. A work that offers everything from delicate sounds and yearning melodies to powerful rhythms. This special evening will be framed by the unique atmosphere of the Cumberland Gallery, a delicious sip from the bar and the wonderful feeling of being at home.
The ROOTS concert takes place as part of the Orchestra on the Staircase weekend:
Who doesn't know it? The agonizing feeling when, after a busy week at work, the stress of weekend leisure and errands takes a stranglehold on us. - But not on the first weekend of Advent. The orchestra in the stairwell invites you once again to a unique all-round musical weekend break. Replace the terror of errands, repairs and leisure time with a weekend full of music for your ears and soul and put together your own personal breather program: Friday for a personal emergency concert, Saturday for a body percussion workshop with our DISCO drummer Dominik Schad, Sunday morning to make music yourself at the Christmas carol concert or in the evening at "Roots", with intensive chamber music in the orchestra's namesake home, the Cumberlandsche Galerie. A sonorous discharge of classical music, a weekend of inner well-being, an oasis of communal recharging.
