Roxanne de Bastion and Daniel Bongart will play a very special and intimate concert at the Rheinbühne Bonn.

Roxanne de Bastion:

The London-based singer-songwriter Roxanne de Bastion is something of a star in her home country. With her latest album "You And Me We Are The Same", she has attracted so much attention on the island that even Iggy Pop has played her music on the radio and recommended it. After accompanying Katie Melua on her tour of Germany in 2022, she became a household name here too.

She recently caused a stir with the publication of her first book "The Piano Player of Budapest", which made it onto the bestseller lists in many countries. The book tells the story of her grandfather, a famous jazz musician who survived the Holocaust and came with an accompanying album on which his music was beautifully re-imagined by Roxanne. The album and book have received rave reviews from BBC Culture, The Guardian, The Observer, Record Collector, The New Cue, The Times Literary Supplement and The Mail on Sunday and has marked Roxanne out as a truly unique talent.

Her new EP "Ultraviolet" will be released in the fall, which Roxanne will also present on this evening.

Daniel Bongart:

The music of singer-songwriter Daniel Bongart from Bonn is sensitive and touching. In his songs, the likeable curly-haired man and native of the Ahr Valley tells stories about people, secrets and emotions. The soulful interplay of instrumental accompaniment and vocals lends depth to his personal lyrics. Daniel Bongart creates an exciting dramaturgy at his concerts by alternating between quiet and loud songs.

Four years after his debut album, Daniel Bongart released his second album "Dreaming Tree" in August 2023, which features very varied and personal songs by the singer-songwriter.

He spent two years working on this album with his band. The result is arrangements that go straight to the heart, which has also impressed radio presenter legend Frank Laufenberg and Purple Schulz, who have presented his music on their radio shows. Sometimes his songs are powerful and sometimes fragile, musically reduced to the bare essentials. His music is a special experience for fans of rock and folk music.

The two are linked by a friendship that originated with Roxanne's father Richard de Bastion. This connection runs deep, which you will definitely feel on this evening.
