Cologne-based songwriter Isabell Honig combines warm, spherical sounds with sophisticated melodies in her band project Safetyville.
She released the EP "Passing Strangers" back in 2014 - then still as a solo artist and much more acoustic. Since then, her sound has evolved - the songs sound bigger and have a wafting expanse to them. This also applies to the single "Once", which was released in October 2023. Her path can be described as ranging from folk to wellness pop.
It is always her voice that lies clear and multi-faceted above the broad, sonorous sound world. Safetyville's music touches, goes "straight to the heart" and has both powerful moments and fragile, subtle nuances. Whether in a solo or band context, the artist shows a moving depth and enthusiasm for artistic expression in her live shows.

In a garishly colorful and loud world that increasingly consists of gimmickry and simplified categorization, it is the quiet and reserved nuances that one can look forward to.

Hello Piedpiper started a few years ago as the solo project of a songwriter who toured Europe with a few songs and a loop station. In the last few years, however, the solo existence became a full band. The band now combines classic folk with modern indie."Cinematic artpop", someone once said. Spherical soundscapes are mounted on pop songs as if Morricone had collaborated with Midlake. Their curiosity for grooves, electric guitar melodies and soundscapes, vocal harmonies and classic folk songs remains intact. Sounds like the good old days, you might say. And yet this is not quite true. Past and present are so closely intertwined here that it is impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins. After releasing their albumThe raucous tidein 2016, they released their EPOxygenin 2020 - both on the renowned indie labelKumpels and Friends.

The artist Ute Krafft transforms the hands of important musicians into lifelike sculptures through the project "Of Hands and Music" and thus preserves them for future generations - as a small section of space and time. It is a non-profit art project, the sculptures are created for exhibitions and remain a permanent part of a museum's collection. There are already more than 300 musicians, including many well-known bands, who have been inspired by the project.

From August 2 to 18, 2024, exciting concerts will take place from Friday to Sunday, inviting you to experience Ute Krafft's artworks before and after in her exhibition in Bunker K101. You can find the whole program here.

Each exhibition in the "Of hands and music" series will be accompanied by small concerts. Musicians whose hand sculptures will be on display will play - at some concerts in the series also those whose hands Ute Krafft only molds on the day of their performance.
