Principal conductor Antonello Manacorda, soloist Igor Levit and the KAP start the new concert season together with a program full of personality, contrast and confidence.
European. Citizen. Pianist. Igor Levit criticizes, warns, intervenes and gives hope, politically and with his music. Confidence in a time that makes you think and leaves unanswered questions like those once posed by Ives. Shostakovich's piano concerto is the work of a composer who led a life between music and politics, between fame and tension. The fact that the still young Beethoven was plagued by worries about his hearing and fears is not to be heard in his second symphony. Beethoven is a thinker in tones who manages to blur serious questions about fate, transformed into sound, with delicate cantilenas.
