In cooperation with the Bavarian Elite Academy Foundation (BEA)
The discussion in the Salon Luitpold, led by scholarship holders from the Bavarian Elite Academy Foundation (BEA), opens a new series of events to discuss social challenges. Together with experts, complex issues will be examined from interdisciplinary perspectives.
As part of the panel discussion, we will be looking at the contribution of scholarships to equal opportunities in education. Over 3,000 scholarships offer students in Germany both financial and non-material support, helping them to complete their studies in the best possible way and develop their personal potential.
However, first-time graduates, people from financially disadvantaged households, people with a migration background and refugees, among others, who would benefit most from such funding, are structurally disadvantaged. Educational background has a significant influence on the likelihood of receiving a scholarship.
The panel discussion will look at what scholarships and other organizations are currently doing to ensure more equal opportunities in education and what challenges they still face. We will also gain an insight into how important an accessible scholarship landscape is for students in Germany and how we can also benefit from it as a society.
