She earned rave reviews for her refined music and yet performed almost exclusively in her own home: Barbara Strozzi, one of the most exciting female composers before 1700. Director Maëlle Dequiedt poetically translates her salons, which sought conversation at eye level, into the present day. Audience and performers meet on the main stage to reflect together on the meaning and limits of community between artistic arias and personal experiences.
