Satirica: Die DISTEL

In the organizer's words:

In the new program we ask ourselves: where is the journey going? For the coming challenges of our
challenges facing our world! With the demise of socialism, it was clear to us
that only the market economy could save us. Today we suspect that back then we were not
lifeboat, but the Titanic.
But everything was going so well: Germany was always on the sunny side of globalization! With
Cheap flights to the south in cheap fashion from the south. Energy for little coal from the East.
Eating Syrian food in the evening and then, out of curiosity, watching war on "ZDF History" or inflation on
"Babylon Berlin". And when our conscience bothered us, we sent our kids to "Fridays for
Future", went to the cabaret ourselves and laughed good-humoredly at our disastrous mistakes. GONE!
The year is 2022.
More than half of Germans would now prefer to live in the past. Yet we have always preferred
always preferred the future in the past. Times are changing. There's only one thing to do
today - perhaps by talking about the "good old days" in a cozy and moving way
and risking a look into the future. And where does that happen? In the past at the regulars' table or at
family celebrations, today in digital blogs.
Or at a cabaret rehearsal. The setting for "Wer hat an der Welt gedreht" was therefore quickly
was quickly found: the first day of rehearsals, a new "cabaret show" is to be rehearsed by our DISTEL ensemble.
The textbook is on the table and off we go! But how to approach the hot topics? The energy emergency,
permanent pandemic, globalization, no: de-globalization - all these topics?
And what does satire actually have to offer today? New insights? Redemption? Distraction? Enlightenment?
The ensemble is not at all in agreement. On the contrary. There is not only controversial discussion, there is also
staged, vividly acted and illustrated. Some aspects are logical, some even correspond to the
mainstream; other positions are unexpectedly refreshingly quirky or breathtakingly bizarre.
But above all they are one thing - very, very funny.
With the new program "Wer hat an der Welt gedreht?", the Distel presents the long-awaited
successor to "Skandal im Spreebezirk", the great public success of recent years. And once again
once again, the audience can expect a fast-paced journey through the issues of our time and their distortions, between
electromobility, political correctness and the Tyrannosaurus Rex. And all this against
against the backdrop of a disease that violates international law and an invincible war - or vice versa.
And by the way: what is climate change actually doing?
The author duo Robert Schmiedel and Frank Voigtmann have been writing successfully for various cabarets in the country since 2005.

previous program, Frank Voigtmann is not only directing this time, but is also back on stage as an actor.

Nancy Spiller, who has already appeared in two DISTEL programs and recently became a permanent member of the DISTEL ensemble. The three are accompanied musically and lyrically by Felix Lauschus and Fred Symann.

Venue of the event

The Capitol in Bremerhaven is a popular venue for political cabaret. Well-known names from the satire and cabaret scene regularly perform here. However, the Capitol doesn't just see itself as a stage, but wants to offer more than just a show.

The "Arbeitnehmerkammer kulturell" has been organizing a varied theater programme in Bremerhaven since 1988 and thus makes an important contribution to a colourful and sustainable urban development. Since 1993, the Capitol has played an important role as a forum for artistic, political, intercultural and interpersonal exchange. In short: Capitol is a place for everyone! The diversity of people and lifestyles that come together here is also reflected in the program of events. Every year from January to May and from September to December, a wide variety of artists, satirists and comedians take to the stage to present their world view to the audience in a humorous or serious, but always intelligent and entertaining way. The "SATIRICA", a festival that has long enjoyed great popularity among satire fans, also takes place in November.
