The film selected by the seven-member jury from Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart will be awarded the FEAR GOOD AWARDS and announced at the end of the festival.

Sayara

During the day Sayara cleans the local gym, at night the quiet woman trains her steely body relentlessly in martial arts. When her sister becomes the victim of a group of macho men who despise women, she sees red and starts a bestial campaign of revenge that shatters all cinematic viewing habits and the bodies of all those who get in the way of the fighter.

With BASKIN, Can Evrenol catapulted Turkey onto the horror film map in 2015. With this mercilessly intense thriller, he steps it up a notch in terms of brutality. Here, fists smash bodies, blades split skulls and brain matter drips from combat boots. Sayara's father, to whom she owes all her skills, puts it in a nutshell: "Warriors like you and me only remember our first execution. Everything after that is darkness." It gets very dark.
