Schamrock Festival / Conference Of The Birds

The 7th Schamrock Festival of Women Poets opens up new perspectives on words, art and life. From October 25 to 27, more than 50 female poets from over 20 countrieswill gather in Munich under the motto "Conference of the Birds".

The program includes readings, performances, crossover and translation projects, workshops and panel discussions. Well-known names such as Anne Waldman, Sabine Gruber and Barbi Markovic will meet new discoveries from Ethiopia, Armenia , Lithuania, Myanmar and many other countries. Female poets from Munich and Bavaria will also have their say. They will all read and perform from their works, provide insights into their living and working conditions and have the opportunity to talk to each other and the audience. The festival is still the only one of its kind in the world and is organized by Augusta Laar and Kalle Aldis Laar with Schamrock e.V. This year's guest curator is Birgit Kempker. The FesRval motto "Conference of the Birds" is inspired by the Ukrainian poet IrynaTsilyk.

This year, the Schamrock Festival will once again take place in the Werksviertel-Mitte Kunst space. The program extends over three days.
