Have you heard of Schirrmann's? You'll find the new Bremen restaurant in Bremen Youth Hostel - in a prime location on the Weser and in the heart of the city. This is where the world meets! This also applies from a culinary point of view: the kitchen serves you an exciting crossover of "international" and "regional". Definitely give it a try!

The McEbel One Man Bluesband

is a special kind of one-man band. McEbel plays his drums sitting down, not on his back. He also sings and plays guitar and harmonica. His program covers the whole range of the blues genre, from the country blues of Robert Johnson to Texas blues ala Stevie Ray Vaughan to the Chicago blues of Muddy Waters, spiced up with little excursions into the soul of Ray Charles. The songs don't sound like copies of the originals, that would be presumptuous, but like McEbel - sometimes raw, always with emotion. His sound sounds like a full band, and McEbel also knows how to entertain the audience with little stories. He has his current 2019 CD 'May I introduce myself' in his luggage, which contains 6 interpretations of titles by other authors as well as 3 original compositions.

Good blues from Germany, yes that works too! Whereby the landscape certainly contributes to this, the wide prairie of the Lüneburg Heath is not very suitable for hits or metal when you look out of the window... but the landscape then gives a lot of blues! Born in Hamburg in 1962, he fled the big city for the beautiful Handeloh in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath in 2005.

His first CD was released in 2019, which Mc Ebel then called "May I introduce myself" and which contains 6 interpretations of titles by other authors as well as 3 original compositions.
"May I intrudice myself" (his dog selflessly introduces himself musically), "Don't waste my Time" is an instrumental guitar boogie and "Stolen car Blues" tells the story of a stolen musician's car... which had a happy ending! Car back, everything inside gone, until the shoes (which he still cherishes and wears today!).

McEbel One Man Bluesband CD number 2 - Blues, Sweat & Beers
Recorded directly, without any overdubs, in the barn of an old farmhouse. Vocals, blues harp, guitar, foot drums - all at the same time - as you would expect from McEbel. In his choice of songs, he has put together a mix of interpretations of more or less well-known titles and his own pieces. From personal slow blues to party numbers, not everything is included, but a lot. Emotions included! In the song INFECTED, for example, McEbel talks about his passion for the blues, which was awakened at the beginning of the eighties by Stevie Ray Vaughan in particular and then consolidated a few years later by B.B. King. It continues unabated to this day. Let's have a blues party!

From August 11, we offer you a special opportunity to do so every second Sunday: at "Schirrmann's Lunch & Music".
You can expect not only delicacies à la carte, our varied buffet, coffee specialties, tea and pastries with a view of the Weser, but also live music from musicians from Bremen and the surrounding area, who will round off the afternoon perfectly from 1.00 pm to 3.30 pm.
