"Schlaumeiern Forever"-Akademie: Schlüsselwerke der Kunstgeschichte: Salvador Dali, Die BEständigkeit der Erinnerung, 1931

Salvador Dali invites the viewer into a world of the unconscious and dreams: three melting clocks as a symbol of time's dominion over us humans, ants as a symbol of transience, the artist's face in profile, Catalan rock formations in the background. The small-format oil painting The Persistence of Memory (Museum of Modern Art, New York) is considered a major work of Surrealism. Born in Figueres, Spain, in 1904 and died there in 1989, Salvador Dali is probably one of the most dazzling artistic personalities of the 20th century. As a painter, graphic artist, stage designer and writer, he constantly broke new ground, set new standards and at the same time shocked the art world time and again with his eccentric appearance.

The event is part of the Kunsthalle Bremen's "Schlaumeiern Forever" academy. Thanks to its extensive collection, which spans 700 years of art history, the Kunsthalle Bremen has something to say on all art historical topics. The museum would like to pass on this knowledge to inquisitive, curious people who are keen to engage in discussion at the "Schlaumeiern Forever" academy. In various courses, important exhibitions, famous artists and collectors, major works of art history and epochs are presented. All participants will be trained to become certified smart people.
