Munich Dance Stories III
by Chakkars - Moving Interventions
With "Sein - Münchner Tanzgeschichten III", CHAKKARs - Moving Interventions opens the third part of a project series. It collects stories, places, people and time windows on dance in Munich that are less visible to the public than their traces of movement in the city. What about the many people who have been dancing in Munich for generations? How do they dance, what, with whom and where? Can a piece of the city's history be explored and told through dance practices and with dance enthusiasts?
The project series "Münchner Tanzgeschichten" pursues a (post)migrant approach that begins with the reflection of cultural exclusions in dance and subsequently opens up beyond the migrant context. In this event, project partners trace stories that locate moving identities in the city. With this installation, the archive of dance stories and their places and histories in the city is also growing.
OPEN CALL - We are looking for Munich dance stories - INVENTORY: MUNICH DANCES - BUT HOW?
Do you have a dance story or memory that you would like to share with us? Do you dance in Munich? Did your parents or grandparents dance in Munich? Which dances/dance forms do you dance? Which dance forms are danced in Munich, since when and by whom? Is there an important place or places in Munich for you that are connected with dance? Do you have any pictures, documents, newspaper articles or objects? Which dancers danced in Munich that we can't find in (dance) history books? Get in touch with us by email.
