Serafin works as a ticket clerk on the subway. He would much rather be a dreamer and inventor, tinkering and fantasizing with his best friend Plum. When the two of them find a completely run-down villa one day, they are overjoyed: at last they can realize all their ideas and live the way they imagine! And it becomes a real dream house. But then this idyll is threatened by modern progress, which wants to take over everything in the form of excavators and sprawling new buildings. But in the end, the two of them still have a way out.
"Serafin and his miracle machine" is a story about freedom. The freedom we need for a self-determined life. The freedom to make dreams come true and to shape our own lives.
In a perfect mixture of drama, puppet theater and mechanical stage design, compagnie nik creates a new form of theater that is in no way inferior to the dreamlike story from Philippe Fix's unjustly almost forgotten book.
