A presenter guides the audience on stage through this unusual examination of the enduringly popular ballet classic "Swan Lake". Both the dance artistry of the SETtänzer:innen and the original compositions played live by the string trio "Trio Vier" move between fusion and confrontation of the epochs. There are always real-time reviews by those present.

So what does the figure of the mystical swan creature in SWAN~SHAKE embody? Is it a symbol of our art at the crossroads between modernity and tradition, between society and the intellectual elite? The swan fights and confronts itself. It even presents itself unprotected and vulnerable to the eyes of art connoisseurs, art critics and the Tafelhalle audience. Open-heart surgery on the performing arts of dance and stage music. Or a somewhat different anniversary party for the SETanztheater?
