A musician dances with his cello, chairs turn all by themselves and glasses become acrobatic marvels. Come with us on a hypnotic journey between madness and meditation.
Finding calm in the storm is probably a need for many people in today's world. To take a step away from megalomania and consumerism towards what is directly around us and to recognize the potential in it. To get one step closer to the core of our own reality. David Eisele approaches this attempt in his show for the KATAPULT production TORNADO'S EYE, in which he places the cello at the center and creates a symbiosis between live music, dance and object manipulation.
The props all have one thing in common: they can turn or spin in a variety of ways. The chair spins like a potter's wheel, the glass becomes a diabolo and the cello takes on a life of its own. This artistic energy creates a piece that transforms the spinning dance into a meditative trance and invites the audience to relax and focus. In the spinning dance of things, the boundary between dizziness and altered consciousness becomes blurred and the performance approaches the question of how clarity, calm and peace can be felt in the midst of a turbulent state.
Ages 6 and up.
After the show on Friday, January 17, there will be a follow-up discussion format led by the initiative you are warmly invited.
