Open-air concert

The trio consisting of Mustafa Boztüy, Umut Piêra and Deniz Bahadır play their own compositions and Turkish folk tunes with surprising new ideas that are created live on stage.

Mustafa Boztüy" is one of the few percussionists who have developed traditional oriental playing styles into a contemporary, multicultural form of expression. He has developed a masterful technique on the darbouka, bendir and udu in particular and has found his own language. He has been working with well-known international musicians from the cross-culture scene for many years and lends the music projects an unmistakable charm with his sensitive timbres and powerful improvisational playing.

As part of the trio, the musician "Umut Piêra" (Yilmaz) concentrates on the Anatolian long-necked lute - the bağlama - in addition to his unmistakable voice. His quartet Kavpersaz (2010) (kaval - percussion - saz) won the national prize at the Global Music Contest Creole in 2011 and the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) Jazz Prize in the Music Cultures category in 2019.

The trio is complemented by Deniz Bahadır. The desire to always be different then led him to work with musicians who love innovation instead of the usual. In this never-ending adventure, he has collaborated with countless valuable soloists and participated in important concert projects. He prioritized his identity as a musician rather than an instrumentalist and participates in studio work as an arranger.
