Sonderausstellung: Tropische Schmetterlinge

Every year in the winter months, the Munich-Nymphenburg Botanical Garden offers a special opportunity to experience tropical butterflies up close in the aquatic plant house of the show greenhouses. The pupae come from special butterfly farms in Costa Rica and the Philippines. Just a few days after their arrival in the hot and humid climate of the greenhouse, they hatch and fly freely in the aquatic plant house. With a bit of luck, you can observe mating, egg laying, caterpillar stages and pupation on site. In this way, the entire life cycle of the butterflies can be experienced.
Admission only with time slot tickets
Space in the aquatic plant house is very limited. For this reason, we only offer time slot tickets during the butterfly exhibition.
It is necessary to book a time slot (also for children with Free admission and annual pass holders).
Tickets are available at the main ticket office from the start of the exhibition. Tickets can be purchased there for the current day, not for future visits.
