Souvenirs des Lebens

In the organizer's words:

The members of the association, who run the KulturLaden and the Friedrich7 producers' gallery, are opening their annual association exhibition "Souvenirs of Life" on November 30 with a reading, which is being created in collaboration with authors from LiteraturRaumDortmundRuhr.

A souvenir is more than just a memento - it is a symbol of a special person, an eventful vacation or a defining moment. A souvenir can be big or small, beautiful or kitschy and practical or romantic. But what is an important souvenir for one person may have a completely different meaning for another, sometimes even no meaning at all.

This year, 13 artists from the KQH e.V. association have given thought to the theme "Souvenirs of life" and created new works of art. Each of the works is individual and highlights a different perspective of the souvenir.

This summer, the participating artists from the association met with the authors from LiteraturRaumDortmundRuhr at Friedrich7 for the first time. The artworks were assigned to the individual authors in a secret lottery. Inspired by these works, the authors wrote texts in genres ranging from classic short stories to poems.
