Spatz und Engel

Two charismatic women who couldn't be more different. Edith Piaf, the "Sparrow of Paris", the child of a circus acrobat and a street singer, grows up in a brothel in Normandy. Marlene Dietrich, the "blue angel", comes from a Prussian officer's family and is trained at the State Music School in Weimar. Each singer is a style icon in her own right, and her popularity remains unbroken to this day. The two met in New York in 1947 and formed an intense friendship that went largely unnoticed by the public. Both live and love eccentrically. What remains are unforgettable songs.
