SPECTRA-FESTIVAL
First edition of the media-music project of the Junge Filmwerkstatt and Verbunt e.V.
How do we use and evaluate global and personal resources?
How do music and moving images interact in a live context?
Since April 2024, young adults from Düsseldorf aged between 16 and 24 have been exploring these key questions as part of the SPEKTRA festival project. They are supported and professionally guided by artists from the fields of graphic design, moving image and object/installation.
A project week takes place during the fall break in October. Here, the participants produce the content for the festival day and develop live visual shows that take up the topic in an open and multi-layered way. The project will be supplemented by an open call aimed at other participants and inviting them to participate in the project virtually (see project website).
On the day of the festival in the Filmwerkstatt, the live visuals, 3D paintings, video mappings, texts, installations and set designs produced during the project week will then merge with live music from young Düsseldorf bands and musicians to create multimedia performances.
The shows will be presented on three stages individually designed by the participants, while an accompanying exhibition presents selected artistic works from the project and the Open Call.
Live: herrmann, KODA, Bloodflowers, Woodship
