In this literary journey into the past of cabaret, we would like to remember unique personalities of our genre. Their brilliant texts still have special significance today. From the end of the 19th century to the end of the 20th century, actor Walter Sittler will bring to life on stage artists who mastered the language with a 'sharp tongue'. We will encounter humorous poets such as Christian Morgenstern, Eugen Roth and Joachim Ringelnatz. The Munich originals Carl Valentin and Liesl Karlstadt as well as the Viennese coffee house literati, who were satirically inspired, are also not to be missed. We will introduce the militant protagonists of this period such as Erika Mann and Claire Waldoff and look at the stars of the post-war era such as Georg Kreisler and Hanns-Dieter Hüsch. The latter also play an important role in the history of the Renitenztheater.
Walter Sittler will be accompanied on this journey by up-and-coming singer-songwriter Laura Braun. She will show us how relevant some of the texts from the history of cabaret still are today and how easily they can be updated.
