An unstoppable machine embarks on a quest for hysteria. Welcome to the past, present and future. Grotesque cheerleaders meet wild animals, prominent hysterics meet witch trials. How does a society interpret mental suffering? As a social symptom of crisis, as demonic possession, as resistance to authority or as an organic illness of an individual?
"Störung" is a queer-feminist theater performance by the Berlin collective BÄM! In an innovative way, the six performers use theater, aerial artistry, dance, shadow and light to stage a unique piece of hysteria history - from ancient Greece to modern psychiatry.
