Subway goes Philharmonic! For the tenth anniversary of the innovative Cologne-based ensemble, the jazz musicians of the Subway Jazz Orchestra move from the narrow walls of the club that bears their name to the vastness of the concert hall. With them: accordion virtuoso Vincent Peirani.

Quite ambitious: the plan to perform a completely new program almost every month has resulted in an impressive amount of high-quality big band music in the ten years of the Subway Jazz Orchestra's (SJO) existence. The highlight of this is that external musicians are often invited to take part in the projects. On New Year's Day, the French accordionist Vincent Peirani, a kindred spirit of the Cologne big band, will present himself, as he is just as open to new sound excursions as the 18-member ensemble.
