Südwärts Festival 2024 - Organized by and for young people!

This year's Südwärts Festival will take place on July 13, 2024, 3-10 pm in the garden of the Bürgerhaus Wilhelmsburg. There will be a whole day of concerts, graffiti, table tennis, art, food and a cool street soccer tournament organized by Streetsoccer HH.

In nine concerts, the youthful festival team presents young professionals and up-and-coming artists from Wilhelmsburg and Hamburg. The Rapfugees open the festival stage with hip-hop, rap and beatbox. Afterwards you can dance to hip RnB and pop anthems from our Südwärts DJ duo Mimi and Kimi. Fans of amplified guitars can look forward to the young rock band End of July or enjoy the mixture of soft indie sounds and powerful vocals from Thus Problem. The young rapper Ria from Hamburg Süd will also be on the mic. Sam U-L and DareDarrel alias ZsV tear up the stage with self-written songs. At the end of the festival, up-and-coming star Abbz turns up the bass and gets everyone partying. We celebrate with you!

There's more than just kicks from the stage: Streetsoccer HH will kick off the soccer tournament and everyone is invited to play or cheer on. For creative minds there will also be graffiti and a screen printing workshop.

The Südwärts Festival is organized and curated by young people from the district, who help to shape their immediate surroundings culturally with their own, self-determined ideas. Young people, families, music lovers, everyone is welcome.

All artists in the Südwarts line-up:
Rapfugees: a creative collective that lives, dances, raps, beatboxes & scratches hip-hop culture. People with stories, but without ego music. In Rap we find refuge!

DJ Mimi & Kimi: With hip RnB and pop anthems, cool rhythms and clear messages, the DJ duo Mimi & Kimi get the festival crowd dancing. For two years now, Mimi & Kimi have been doing double duty at the Südwärts Festival: as part of the Südwärts crew, they plan and organize behind the scenes, while on stage they play the music themselves.

Thus Problem: A young band from Wilhelmsburg's "1000 Steine Kirchdorf Süd" project, who have been making music together for three years. Their sound spectrum lies somewhere between indie and post-punk, loud and quiet tones, soft songs and loud screams.

End of July: The young rock band is made up of Fynn on lead guitar, Niko on rhythm guitar, Lukas on drums, Lasse on bass and Riki on microphone. They are currently working on their first album together. The band is docked to "1000 Steine Kirchdorf Süd".

Ria: A young rapper from Hamburg South. As part of the HipHop Academy Hamburg, she not only wants to inspire as many people as possible with her music, but also to encourage others to make music, try themselves out and show their talent. She is accompanied in two of her songs by
by the artists Amir and Koena.

Silas' Lila Kiddies: A Lüneburg band that emerged from a school band, consisting of young people who also enjoy music outside of school. Under the direction of Silas Domrös, they perform pop and rock songs from different decades.

ZsV: The duo, consisting of DareDarrel and Sam U-L, make German rap with a melancholic and dark style. Their energetic, melodic tracks deal with topics such as lovesickness and depression as well as the German rap scene, bringing a lot of emotion and energy to the stage.

Abbz: Abbz has been making music for more than six years, but has only officially been on the scene for six months and has already released a hit or two like "Truss me" in that time. That's something to be heard.

The Südwärts Festival is a project by Bürgerhaus Wilhelmsburg and the Elbe Islands Music Network. It enables young people between the ages of 13 and 18 to develop their own cultural and event formats in continuous workshops and implement them in a self-determined way. At the end, there is a large one-day festival in which the young people take part in front of, behind and on stage and gain new experiences.
