With each concert and album, the modus operandi of this glorious trio becomes clearer - Sylvie Courvoisier, Drew Gress and Kenny Wollesen play a shifting music that is by turns highly detailed and ambiguously open-ended. The music Courvoisier writes is tightly organized and requires the precision of the ensemble, as evidenced by a few thorny unison heads. But the music also harbors a mysterious, dreamlike quality that can emerge at any time, triggered by a wistful ostinato or a moonlit piano arpeggio that is persistently repeated, or by a quiet episode that underscores the depth of the trio's sonic space.
They also do the good stuff we appreciate jazz for - the joyful swinging, the coming together when they make complex material sing, and the flying apart when the players explore it on their own terms.

The new album will be recorded live during this tour.
