Tag der offenen Tür und Großes Eröff­nungsfest

We are kicking off the new season and invite you to celebrate with us. From the afternoon until late into the night, a varied program awaits you in and around the Schauspielhaus. We start at 3 pm with activities for children and families: Drag Story Hour, make-up artistry up close and guided tours of the theater. Also included: the carpentry workshop as well as theater painting and sculpture to see and experience for yourself! While the second edition of the "Own It!" skate festival transforms the square in front of the Schauspielhaus into a large halfpipe until 10 pm with exciting contests and workshops, DJs included. Also on the afternoon program: playful activities and surprising performances by the Stadt:Kollektiv, improv theater with the D'Impronauten and children's dance with Ukrainian choreographer Glib Movenko. Live music by Belendjwa Peter ("Cabaret") and JonnyLehondi aka Jonas Friedrich Leonhardi at the loop station will welcome you in the foyer of the main auditorium. There are great prizes to be won at the wheel of fortune and you can find out about the premieres of the new season. At the popular costume sale , you have the opportunity to take home your very own piece of Düsseldorf theater history. You can talk to theater employees at the speed dating event, and at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. we'll ignite pure theater magic for you at the stage technology show in the Big House! In the Kleines Haus, actor Jürgen Sarkiss and his ensemble invite you to a very special song recital and author Mithu Sanyal reads from her new novel "Antichristie". There will be real talk and silliness in the stand-up comedy performance by Abdul Kader Chahin. The eight students of the Düsseldorf Drama Studio will welcome you to the Unterhaus with chansons and scenes. You can also look forward to readings and excerpts from our productions on all stages until the ensemble and the artistic teams present the new season in the big season preview at 7:30 pm. Afterwards, we celebrate drag and travesty in all its facets with a special edition of Drag & Biest in the foyer, until 10 pm when it's time to dance under the stage sky at the party in the main auditorium. - Free admission to the stage show, party and all other events.
