tanz.tausch Festival: Willie Stark "Chapt(her)s" Premiere

In the organizer's words:

Chapt(her)s deals with the concept of the female body and the place of women in society. The female group around Willie Stark confronts us with clichés, prejudices and contradictions by delving deep into the gestures of women, the objectification of the body, double standards, political oppression and social exclusion. Dance is a political tool here: to what extent do culture, gender, ethnicity and socio-economic conditions influence the expression or suppression of anger, empathy and love.

The vision of Willie Stark's company Aswego is deeply rooted in the celebration of urban and African-American cultures and the expression of political and social messages through movement. Their goal is to foster community and convey a sense of shared love and understanding.
