We cordially invite you to an open baking event in our mobile kitchen. Together we will bake, build, decorate and produce individual molds.
The participatory event is organized by the artists Rafael Andrade-Córdova, Paula Erstmann and Marie Donike, in cooperation with iJula - intersectionales JugendLabor im Veedel, Kunsthaus Kat18 and kaethe:k Kunsthaus.
The artist and author Julius Vapiano will read a text he wrote about the Mauritiusveedel and its bakeries from 6 pm.
The Temporary Kitchen is a mobile kitchen that was created as part of the exhibition Cooking as Performance (2023) and has been activated by the Temporary Kitchen event series in Mauritiusviertel since summer 2023. The artist Paula Erstmann and curator Lisa Klosterkötter explored the neighborhood surrounding the Temporary Gallery, the local restaurants, restaurateurs and the people living there and, in cooperation with local initiatives, communities and associations, invited people to cook and eat together in order to get to know each other better, network and exchange ideas in the neighborhood. The mobile kitchen was built by Rafael Andrade-Córdova, who designed it in collaboration with Paula Erstmann, Aneta Rostkowska and Christina Hanich.
The event is free of charge and accessible without registration.
Further information on the accessibility of the events:
Relaxed atmosphere: The event is designed to be relaxed. This means that movement during the event is welcome. The rooms can be left and re-entered at any time. Drinks and hearty food will be provided. A variety of seating furniture (chairs, beanbags, stools) will be available.
Physical access: The exhibition rooms are steplessly accessible, unfortunately there is no barrier-free toilet. The a&o Hostel, about 200 meters from the Temporary Gallery, offers barrier-free toilets.
