In their youth, Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends working for the same magazine. But then life caused them to lose sight of each other. Ingrid now works as an author of autofiction, Martha as a war reporter. After years of no contact, the two women meet again in a difficult but also strangely beautiful situation.
