The Ruffcats

2024 sees the release of RAH & The Ruffcats' eponymous debut album on the Berlin label Sonar Kollektiv.

A longstanding friendship and numerous joint jams and sessions between the Nigerian-born, Berlin-based rapper and singer RAH (Rapturous Apollo Helios) and the seven-piece hip hop / neo-soul / funk / afrobeat band The Ruffcats (including Georgia Anne Muldrow, Dudley Perkins, Samy Deluxe, Retrogott, Flo Mega) have resulted in a fruitful collaboration over the past few years.

A first joint single entitled "Shifting Sands" was released in 2018. At the end of last year, the project presented its first demos in the scene - with an excellent response.

The desire for a joint album was born. The recordings for the debut have now been completed. The project is expressly not intended to be a one-hit wonder; RAH & The Ruffcats want to establish themselves as a studio and live band in the long term.
