The social within the city : City Groove

In the organizer's words:

Imagine grooving through the streets of Düsseldorf and being transported to downtown Cairo at the same time. Perhaps the Königsallee is a side street in Caracas or you suddenly experience a music festival in the English countryside on the Oberkassel Bridge. City Groove initiates a transcultural event - using virtual spaces in which we can move and connect freely. Participants immerse themselves in embodied experiences of the architecture and atmospheres of different cities.
City Groove uses a newly developed smartphone app that works like a mobile silent disco and transforms the city into a digital meeting place. Cologne-based dance artists Douglas Bateman, Hend Elbalouty and Maria Mercedes Flores invite you to join them on dance tours of the city - to move and groove together through the city. The app will be used with specially compiled playlists together with guests.
The social within the city is a digital platform with the aim of making public spaces a new and different experience for everyone, regardless of age, origin or ability. With guided tours, choreographic tasks and curated playlists, the project combines elements of game design and dance.

City Groove is available in German, English, Arabic and Spanish. Guests must download the app and bring their own headphones to participate. No dance experience or knowledge is required. All routes are wheelchair accessible.

تخيل أنك تتجول في شوارع دوسلدورف بينما تُنقل مع الموسيقى الى شوارع القاهرة، ربما تحملك الى زقاقًا خلفيًا في كاراكاس، أو قد تجد نفسك فجأة في مهرجان موسيقي في الريف الإنجليزي.

City Grooveهو حدث ثقافي/فني يتم عبر مساحات افتراضية يمكننا التنقل فيها بحرية والتواصل من خلالها. يتيح للمشاركين استكشاف التجارب الحسية لللمعماريين والأجواء المختلفة لللمدن.
يستخدم مشروع City Groove تطبيقًا جديدًا يعمل مثل حفل صامت (silent disco)، يستخدم التطبيق قوائم تشغيل مخصصة تم اختيارها بعناية محولًا المدينة إلى نقطة لقاء رقمية. يدعو فنانو الرقص دوغلاس باتمان، هند البلعوطي، وماريا مرسيدس فلوريس المشتركين إلى جولات لللتحرك والرقص معًا في أرجاء المدينة.

يهدف المشروع إلى خلق تجربة مختلفة في المساحات العامة، بدون الحاجة لقدرات حركية او خبرات سابقة. اكتشاف المدن من خلال شوارع بعينها وتمارين المحركية، وقوائم الموسيقى.
يدمج المشروع عناصر من تصميم الألعاب والرقص.

التجربة متاحة باللغات: الألمانية والإنجليزية والعربية والإسبانية.
يحتاج الضيوف إلى تنزيل التطبيق وإحضار سماعات الأذن الخاصة بهم لللمشاركة.
لا يتطلب المشروع أي خببرة أو معرفة بالرقص.
جميع الطرق مهيأة للكراسي المتحركة.
