To mark World Suicide Prevention Day on
September 10, the Cologne Network for Suicide Prevention überLEBENswert is showing the film
"The Son" by French director and author Florian Zeller from 2022 on the subject of suicidal tendencies among young people.
The family drama is about 17-year-old Nicholas (Zen McGrath), who suffers from depression. New York lawyer Peter (Hugh Jackman) has built a new life with his new partner Beth (Vanessa Kirby) and their offspring. When his ex-wife Kate (Laura Dern) suddenly turns up on his doorstep, worried about their son Nicholas, nothing is the same as it was before. A battle against depression begins, characterized by despair, understanding and authority.
After the film, there will be an opportunity to talk to experts and ask questions.
