THREE FOR SILVER (Indie-Folk)

Wicked darkness, rainy cobblestone alleys, a cone of light scattered by the fog slumbers in the corner and a few instruments lie around on the floor. This - or something like this - is what the new album by "Three For Silver" sounds like. The next single "These Laughing Bones" will be released on 22.3.2024! The song is spooky, it's about monsters sneaking up on you while you're about to set your traps for them - highly recommended!

The constantly evolving band around Lucas Warford manages the fine line between seriousness and humor. It's not that easy, but it's very easy to fail. Warford and his Boys & Girls manage this with a lightness that is second to none.

To be honest: "These Laughing Bones" is not a song to listen to on the side - nor is the whole album in general. And that's a good thing in this case. There are so many mischievous little details to explore. You have to listen to each song at least 2-3 times to fully understand what a marvel has been created here.

The whole album is also quite something. A somehow mystical atmosphere takes hold of you when you listen to the 10 songs. They all sound as if the villain of a musical is finally coming into play for the first time in Act 3. This villain is still evil, but basically has his heart in the right place. This explains the constant wink in the vocal lines of "Three For Silver". Not only have guitars, bass and drums found their place in the sound costume, but horns & co. also play their part. In addition to the wicked moods, the band also show on their track "Does Me Good" that they can definitely make feel-good music. The same goes for the album closer "Things Just Get Away From Me" - which also sounds like the end of a movie.

What can be said musically about "Three For Silver" can be heard stringently throughout the album: very clever rhythm passages that are perfectly coordinated between the instruments.

Rating: (very, very, very) worth listening to!
