Michael Dorsey, an unsuccessful actor, goes to a musical casting in desperation, disguised as a woman, and actually gets the role of his life. But that's when the problems really begin: He falls in love with his colleague, has to put up with an abusive director and, last but not least, has to come to terms with his new alter ego: Dorothy Michaels, called Tootsie (= tootsie)!

The musical stays close to the unforgettable film starring Dustin Hoffman and shines with crisp dialog, good timing and great show numbers. Just the right place to celebrate the good times with pop, jazz, blues and funk in this cracked world!
