Tré Burt - Traffic Fiction Tour

In the organizer's words:

Presented by Sparkasse in concert, Bremen Zwei and Kulturzentrum Schlachthof

Support: Skyway Man

He's a soul man, no question about it. But not only that. Rock, funk and folk also have their place in Tré Burt's raw neo-soul sound. With his latest album "Traffic Fiction", the US-American takes us on a very personal trip between love songs, critical observations and witty-ironic pieces.

The much-praised production has catapulted Tré Burt into a new orbit. Until then, the Californian, who now lives in the music metropolis of Nashville, Tennessee, was regarded as a folk singer/songwriter with soul and blues influences. On his first albums, he also dealt with social and political issues, unchecked capitalism and the still smouldering racism. This spirit can still be felt now. But "Traffic Fiction" is much more about private matters: lost love, self-discovery, the loss of his grandfather. The latter had helped his grandson gain insights into the great soul tradition of Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye and the Temptations, from which Tré draws more than ever today. However, his kind of soul mix is not smooth and neat. Tré Burt likes it realistically roughed up, sometimes interspersed with unusual sounds and even psychedelic twists.

Tré Burt is in his early 30s and comes from Sacramento in Northern California. As a child of divorce, he regularly commuted to the San Francisco Bay Area. He found support and a balm for his soul in music. Tré was a headstrong boy. He wanted to become a musician, learned a bit of guitar and soon found his way as a street musician in San Francisco and Sacramento. His first album releases were followed (as soon as the pandemic allowed it again) by numerous club shows and support appearances with more well-known acts - more recently, for example, the African-American toured Europe with Wilco.

Now Tré Burt and his band are performing in our region for the first time. And will demonstrate his qualities as a contemporary, versatile song artist and engaging performer. Support act: roots singer/songwriter James Wallace alias Skyway Man, also a member of Tré Burt's band.
