Compositions with which the talented Debussy and Beethoven wanted to prove their skills meet works by female composers who had already proven their talent and were able to draw on their extensive experience: on the one hand Victoria Yagling as a highly talented cellist (studied with Rostropovich) and composer (studied with Kabalevsky), on the other hand Fanny Hensel, gifted at the piano and conductor's podium and a composer highly admired by her brother.
