Open Stage, Famous Musicians from the Munich Jazz/Classic/Pop/World Music Scene

Inspired by Yongbo Zhao's brilliant visual language, the renowned composers and jazz musicians Rainer Fabich and Wolfgang Lackerschmid, together with the extraordinary piano virtuoso Maharani Chakrabarti, set selected images to music live on the screen. The musical collage of composition, improvisation and playback is complemented by comments and personal statements by the internationally successful Munich painter. Originally from China, he gets to the heart of many things in his paintings with his fundamental criticism of world events in a grotesque, comical or bitterly sharp manner. It is always astonishing to see how prophetic and suddenly highly topical his visionary paintings prove to be, sometimes years after they were created.
