Since the Hamas massacre in Israel on October 7, 2023 at the latest, people in all parts of German society have found themselves in a new isolation or even fear. Long-held alliances are being dissolved, conversations are drying up. The divisive power of differences is based not least on the real experience of anti-Semitism and racism. Those who benefit from this are the right-wing populists. Those who want to put an end to the liberal, value-based culture of discussion as well as our democracy as a whole.
At the end of April 2024, the anthology "Talk anyway" was published, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in increasingly divided societies. In the anthology, editors Lena Gorelik, Miryam Schellbach and Mirjam Zadoff allow different people to have their say, showing how it is possible to remain in conversation despite differing perspectives.Together with two of the authors, we would like to invite you to discover commonalities, show solidarity with one another and endure ambiguity.
