TROUBLE AHEAD - Rhythm´n´Blues

In the organizer's words:

Trouble Ahead are inspired by the rhythm'n'blues of the late 1940s to early 1960s. Their influences include swing, West Coast jump, soul, surf, the raw sounds of Chicago blues and music from almost everywhere in the world - some contemporary, some almost forgotten: First-class R'n'B and soul hits by LaVern Baker, Ruth Brown or Etta James, as well as electric post-war blues by Little Walter, B.B. King or T-Bone Walker. Their deep appreciation of these styles can be heard in a selection of interpretations of obscure songs from the past as well as their own material. They say that good music either moves your heart or your ass - this band has both. Dancing and dreaming encouraged.
What started out as a duo in 2016 has now grown into a five-piece band around singer Anja Tschenisch. With Bruno Laube on harmonica and Christoph Hennebeil on guitar, the band not only has two virtuoso instrumentalists, but also two additional singers who underline the band's versatility. Since the end of 2020, all of this can also be heard from home on their first album "Call It Trouble". Trouble Ahead have no need to pretend and stand by their orientation as an oldschool blues band without sounding purist.
