TURBO-Festival: ZER-BRECH-LICH [12 plus]

A word disintegrates into its individual parts. Or becomes the refrain of a hymn to fragility itself. Because whoever says "fragile" pays special attention to the word, gives it its special beauty. With ZER-BRECH-LICH, choreographer Alessandro Schiattarella creates a piece of music theater that tells of the diversity of bodies. The three disabled performers Victoria Antonova, Alice Giuliani and Laila White explore their own and other people's identities. They try out sounds like clothes - and search for the pop moment. The result on stage is a glamorous concert - or perhaps something completely different?

With dance and text, with sounds and objects, the piece shows how dealing with one's own fragility can also become a political message, a vision of a special mindfulness. It encourages new experiences: We know the sounds of something breaking. But what does something sound like when it is saved from breaking?

Andrea Schöne, part of the curation team:
"The three performers dance, sing and give an insight into their fragility and how they transform this into strength at the same time. As a person with a walking disability, I in particular found myself completely reflected here and felt picked up. Of course, the play uses audio description and the music, which is mostly in English, is both displayed as subtitles and translated. So there are different approaches here, which means that people with a wide range of disabilities can also gain their very own view of fragility here."

"The performers showed us how much power they have and how they deal with their disabilities and have learned to live with them. The costumes in the bright colors were one of our WOW effects. The performance with movement, dance and singing was stunning."
