Typen - Masken-Beatbox-Theater

The play "Types" can have an unexpected ending. Together with the audience, the Theater Strahl ensemble develops stories from the audience's lives during the performance. As a result, individual perspectives and themes find resonance on stage in a variety of aesthetic forms. Theater Strahl gives space to these forms and ideas, experimenting with media, music and masks, combining theater, dance and performance. The mask is a tool, medium and projection surface for the different characters and their stories with uncertain outcomes. The highlight of the production is the sound design by beatbox vice world champion Daniel "Mando" Mandolini. The spectrum of his atmospheric sounds ranges from insect buzzing to techno beats. "Types" are strong relationships and surprising twists and turns. Here, the stage becomes a playing field for the moment - masks on and go!

For over three decades, Theater Strahl from Berlin has been meticulously researching and developing plays for people that deal with perspectives, fears, desires and abilities and place them in their social context. The aim is to break down the boundaries between art and mediation, between theater for adults and theater for young audiences, and to create theater for people between the ages of 12 and 120!
