Are you still U18? No problem! Your voice counts.
Political education doesn't have to confuse, intimidate or unsettle anyone. Our contribution to politics, democracy and society always starts with something we already know - with our hearts. And that we start to stand up for the issues that are important to us there.
From February 7 to 13 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. (on February 8 until 3 p.m.) and on February 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., all children and young people under the age of 18 can cast their vote at our office. On February 14, the votes will be counted in the evening and the results can be viewed later at www.u18.org. Further information, all polling stations and dates of accompanying events can also be found on this page.
Munich City Library is actively committed to democratic values, enabling democratic discourse and participation in democratic processes. That is why, with the support of the Kreisjugendring München/Stadt, it is taking part in the state-wide "U18 election in Bavaria" project with polling stations in the Neuhausen, Sendling and Westend city libraries, where children and young people under the age of 18 can cast their votes symbolically nine days before the state elections.
The U18 election results are recorded nationwide after voting and evaluation and published one week before the state election. This distance from the real election has been deliberately chosen because the result should definitely be perceived by the public.
On February 14, the Neuhausen City Library is also offering the "Democracy Mobile" hands-on activity for interested children and young people as well as adults in the district to provide information and actively engage with political issues and the election.
