Überlebt. How to trust your instincts

In the organizer's words:

A youth play+ for everyone aged 14 and over.

How does it actually work - survival? Charles Darwin's often misinterpreted phrase "survival of the fittest" means that the best-adapted have the best chance of survival. What does this mean for us, humanity in the 21st century? Perhaps collecting canned ravioli for possible doomsday scenarios is necessary; perhaps a brave "eyes closed and through" or perhaps a fight against the threats to our planet. Which regions in our body are responsible for survival? Do all beings have a survival instinct and if so, what does it look like? Are there instructions for a better (survival) life?

In Survived. How to trust your instincts, the young audience moves through an archive of survival strategies, encounters documentary film material here, tutorials and survival quests there and, time and again, the question: What could strategies for our future life together on earth look like?

Anna Malena Große is a theater director and documentary film student at the HFF Munich. She studied at the HfMDK Frankfurt am Main from 2015 to 2017 and has been studying music theater and drama directing at the Theaterakademie August Everding since 2018. In 2022, she made her debut with the production DARK MATTER. Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst at the Junges Staatstheater+. With her work, she operates at the interface between theater, gaming, documentary film and interactive video worlds.

Survived. How to trust your instincts is a PLUS production for audiences aged 14 and over. A player from the ensemble of the Staatstheater is on stage together with citizens from Kassel and the surrounding area. They have their say with their voices, expertise and views and question their and our worldviews.

Content Note:

In Survived. How to trust your instincts, the topics of war, death and catastrophes are addressed.
