UMBRUCH HAUTNAH. Leipzig in Filmen der 90er: »KEHREIN, KEHRAUS« (1996/97)

In the organizer's words:

1990, "KEHRAUS" on the streets of Leipzig at night: street sweepers clear away what nobody needs anymore. Along with a lot of other garbage, including worn-out election posters. An end-time mood is spreading. What is to come after the GDR sounds promising, but is not yet tangible. The three street cleaners Gabi, Henry and Stefan have always fluctuated between the poles in their lives: children's home, prison, odd jobs at the city cleaning service.

In 1996, in "KEHREIN, KEHRAUS", none of the three are still sweeping the streets of Leipzig. They commute fragilely between social welfare office, pub and home. There is always something left over, something that doesn't work out...

The events take place as part of the special exhibition "Between awakening and liquidation:the 90s in Leipzig".
