Unterm Kindergarten

In the organizer's words:

Two young creatures meet, but the life of one is already over: the little bird on its first flight crashes into the window of the kindergarten, a child finds it and buries it. It asks itself: What is happening to the animal? What's going on in the ground? "Is everything under the kindergarten dead?"

A seemingly small event becomes the trigger for a big story full of more or less probable creatures. Two actors tell the story as if in a play, full of humor, tenderness and wild poetry: about the giraffe and the whale, the baby bird, the excavator driver and his tireless digger, about fossils and a tree that has sunk into the depths of the earth. Big questions about life, becoming and passing away become part of a cosmos with ease and anarchy, in which living beings are equal and ultimately all connected to each other.

"We are lying on the lawn in front of the kindergarten/and at the same time we are lying on this huge animal/that walks and walks and walks".

Layers of earth and time overlap in a fantastic and absurd way and suddenly everything seems possible.

Born in 1982, author Eirik Fauske is considered one of Norway's most original young playwrights. With their philosophical and absurdly comical narrative style, his plays are an experience for people of all ages.
