Early in her career, UPSAHL released songs that gained well-deserved recognition in the Phoenix music scene. A graduate of the Arizona School for the Arts, she sparked a wave of admiration and praise from music connoisseurs through numerous indie-alternative gems. "Can You Hear Me Now" gained noticeable viral success, followed by the widely praised single "Drugs," which was used in nearly two million TikTok videos, reached #6 on the Viral Charts and #1 on the Sound Trends Charts. UPSAHL first co-wrote "Good in Bed" for Dua Lipa's GRAMMY-winning hit album Future Nostalgia. Since then, she has contributed lyrics to artists such as Madison Beer, Mike Shinoda, Alan Walker, Anne-Marie and Little Mix, and notably co-wrote three songs on Renee Rapp's debut EP Everything To Everyone, to name a few.

UPSAHL has released several EPs, including 2020's Young Life Crisis, which was named one of Billboard's Top 25 Pop Albums of the Year. Her debut album, Lady Jesus, was released in 2021 and was described by People Magazine as one of the "Talented up-and-coming artists making their breakthrough", while Nylon praised her as "a musical force to be reckoned with". Following the release, UPSAHL embarked on a hugely successful debut headline tour, selling out shows in the US, UK, Europe and Australia. UPSAHL's energetic performance style also landed her slots at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Rock en Seine, Reading and Leeds, as well as supporting acts such as Melanie Martinez, Tove Lo, Fletcher and Yungblud.
