Aurora Bouzá and Pere Jou: A Beginning #1616 AD

A BEGINNING is a journey from darkness to light. Five dancers/singers, equipped with portable spotlights, explore the relationship between movement, voice and light. Where choreography and musical composition meet, this work separates the body that sings from the one that moves. Aurora Bouzá and Pere Jou develop a body and movement practice that makes it possible to embody two movements in one body, even contradictory ones: the movement that sounds (the song) and the movement that is seen. The choreography is designed so that the individual can constantly approach and separate from the collective, inviting us to imagine new ways of relating.

URBÄNG! the festival for performative arts is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the free trade zone this year. A good reason to invite outstanding international favorite artists and heartfelt pieces to celebrate the power and relevance of the stage and the shared here & now with our audience.
