What a biography! As a young boy, Dany Dattel survives Auschwitz. After this childhood surrounded by death and horror, he works his way back into life, becomes a prominent foreign exchange trader at a private bank in Cologne - but when it goes under, he is once again made a scapegoat. Director Christian Twente and author Christel Fomm take their elderly protagonist back to the places of his fate, creating a depressing documentary about anti-Semitism during and after the Nazi era - but also a portrait of an unconditional will to live.
