Intro
Sigrid Hoyer / Marco Carini
She is always a welcome guest at Atelier gausz with her paintings. From February 21, Hamburg artist Nicole Majer will be exhibiting several of her works for the second time since 2022. These are selected drawings and paintings that deal with the complexity, intensity and contradictions of human emotions and their facets. Large-format acrylic paintings and small-format charcoal drawings in which bodies, faces and feelings are combined - often in a painful way - characterize Nicole Majer's work, which looks deep into the human soul and translates existential feelings into a unique aesthetic: The artistic exploration of inner experience and the examination and processing of the respective personal perception, generated by experiences in certain situations: Separation, pain, fear, excessive demands.
The artist also uses a variety of materials and techniques in her current works, which she is now presenting for the first time in a solo exhibition. Nicole Majer, who is celebrating her 36th birthday on the day of the vernissage, studied fashion at the AMD Academy for Fashion and Design in Hamburg. She has been working professionally as an artist for ten years now. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, for example in China and Italy. The exhibition will be on display at gausz for one month, with the finissage of "Attempts at Disappearance" taking place on Saturday, March 22 from 3 pm.
