In his new work, in-house choreographer Samir Akika transforms the stage into a catwalk of desires and vanities. A red carpet becomes a playing field for seven dancers, who together take a look at the self-image of artistic work. Equally inspired by conceptual art and fashion shows, Akika and the dancers of Unusual Symptoms break through the hierarchies of high and subculture and mix performative experimentation, artistic activism and the escapist pleasures of late capitalism to create a danced happening between desire and consumption.

On the Easter weekend, Unusual Symptoms present their festival Vier Tage Tanz. In addition to two works by in-house choreographer Samir Akika - Fools At Work and (Little) Mr. Sunshine - the focus this year is on international guest performances. With Hélio, the Brazilian dancer and choreographer Renan Martins presents himself for the first time in Bremen two weeks before the premiere of his new creation with Unusual Symptoms. With game changer, a highlight of Hungary's progressive dance scene will have its German premiere. In addition, physical prologues, audience discussions and workshops offer the opportunity for intensive encounters with the diversity of contemporary dance.
